Unravelling space

you challenge

my imagination

mocking

my dazzling intellect

with your radiant

glowing stars

Far off nebulae

glow

flashes of light

in the eyes

of a child

supernova

light piercing

untold corners

in a borderless

universe

it keeps its secrets well

this canopy

veils

the face of God

Those firefly

flecks

of speckled light

surely

they are just

His Glory

shining through

My God

This night

am I standing

close to

You?

IF ONLY

If only

I could see the world

through my Father’s eyes,

to feel

and know

the place of the sunrise

and the home of the newborn moon.

If only

I could touch the world

with my Father’s hands,

to reach, and find

the warmth of a child

and the heat of the summer rains.

If only

I could heal the world

with my Father’s hands,

to touch

and change

the life of a dying soul

and bring strength into dying limbs.

If only

I could taste the world

with my Father’s love,

to savour

and know

the fullness of a life given

and the joy of returning Home.
